Vice President of NANTA, Ehiogie engages  stakeholders ahead maiden Eastern Travel Market


 

 The National Vice President of National Association of Nigerian Travel Agencies, NANTA, Hope Ehiogie, has held strategic engagements key stakeholders in Abia, Anambra, Akwa-Ibom, Bayelsa, Cross River, Delta, Enugu, Edo, Ebonyi, Imo and Rivers States  ahead of the first-ever Eastern Travel Market taking place at the prestigious Ibom Hotels and Golf Resort, Uyo, Akwa Ibom State.

The historic event, which would showcase the diverse cultural heritage of the 11 states, that comprise South-East and South-South geopolitical zones, is billed for August 27 to August 30.

 

 

The Eastern zone, which covers the six South-South states and the five eastern states, is led by Hope Ehiogie, who has been showing gusto in ensuring the sector adds value in positioning Nigeria as a major destination.

Whilst ensuring that travel operators in the states are not affected by the negative stereotyping that has put the segment of the market a bit behind, Hope has been clear on his vision to draw visibility to beauty of the 11 states, which boast of one of the most contributions to the travel ecosystem in Nigeria.

He has had meetings with some of  the state commissioners for tourism, who are expected to lead their state delegates in showcasing the areas that will drive tourism related activities which will be sold by the travel agencies in their states.

The NANTA Vice President, rounded off his awareness campaign visits to Akwa Ibom, Imo and Enugu States, resulting in fruitful engagement with the Dr. Charles Udoh, an elder statesman in the tourism sector.  

According to him, the engagement with Abia State Commissioner for Arts, Culture, and Creative Economy, Honourable Matthew C. Ekwuribe, was productive, as the Commissioner explained why the State is becoming a major destination through the ETM.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Ehiogie, noted that the tour of the 11 states, was aimed at wetting the grounds for the unveiling of a tourism product by NANTA, with intentions to highlight and promote the tourism potentials.

Speaking after one of  his recent engagements with government representativs, Ehiogie, averred: “The Enugu International Airport, is set to make tremendous impact in the nation's air travel space under the leadership of Governor Peter Mbah and Port-Harcourt International Airport is now looking appealing to various airlines as seen in recent times, where Air France, Neos air, Qatar, Lufthansa now operate, with many more set to join.

 

“Akwa Ibom International Airport, is also getting ready to add to the beautiful story of the region, with a standard that will match Lagos and ultimately provide travellers with more peace, serenity and a taste of classic tourism.”

 

Hope Ehiogie’s leadership, has scaled-up measures to ensure that air travellers in the South-East and South-South, get visibility, while supporting initiatives by the subnational governments in the aforesaid geopolitical zones, to drive tourism related activities in the South-East and South-South.
